Devido à sua configuração, as válvulas de globo são perfeitas para regular ou limitar o fluido. Dependendo das necessidades do sistema, do desenho ou da posição, poderiam ser geradas diferentes perdas de carga na linha.

Uma válvula de globo é multivolta, na qual o fecho é obtido através de um disco ou bujão que corta a passagem do fluido numa sede que costuma ser paralela à circulação na tubagem.
FUNÇÕES DE CONCEPÇÃO
- Estrangulamento eficiente com um mínimo alongamento ou erosão do disco ou da sede.
- Deslocamento curto do disco e poucas voltas para o seu acionamento, o que que reduz o tempo e desgaste na haste e no castelo.
